Psalm 37:27-29 (NKJV) 27 Depart from evil, and do good; And dwell forevermore. 28 For the Lord loves justice, And does not forsake His saints; They are preserved forever, But the descendants of the wicked shall be cut off. 29 The righteous shall inherit the land, And dwell in it forever.

Some may point to these verses in Psalm 37 and say that good works also saves. Well in this psalm David is contrasting the righteous and the wicked. But what makes a man righteous? See in verses 23 and 24 of this psalm, Psalm 37. It says, “The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord, And He delights in his way. Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down; For the Lord upholds him with His hand.” The steps of a good man are established by God on a foundation that is the Rock. And the Rock is the Lord Jesus Christ. We are saved in Christ alone by grace alone. This is how God delights in us. God plans and orders the pathways of those who live in fellowship with Him through His Son Jesus Christ. In trials and tribulations, God holds those who abide in Christ, securely in His hand. And though those who believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, they may fall into sin, God will not utterly cast them down. God will not abandon them, though they may be disciplined and suffer consequences. For God is a just God. And in keeping with His justice, God sent His Son Jesus Christ to pay the penalty for our sins. Through the shed blood of the Lord Jesus Christ, we are justified and redeemed. God reconciled a world of lost sinners onto Himself with the substitutional sacrifice of His Son Jesus Christ. Christ died for us that we may have eternal life. “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life” (John 3:16 NKJV). My friends, all who have been born again through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ can know by God’s promise that they are saved. And they shall dwell forever.

God Bless and have a great day in God’s Word.
