Isaiah 32:16-20 (NKJV) 16 Then justice will dwell in the wilderness, And righteousness remain in the fruitful field. 17 The work of righteousness will be peace, And the effect of righteousness, quietness and assurance forever. 18 My people will dwell in a peaceful habitation, In secure dwellings, and in quiet resting places, 19 Though hail comes down on the forest, And the city is brought low in humiliation. 20 Blessed are you who sow beside all waters, Who send out freely the feet of the ox and the donkey.
When will justice and righteousness permeate every aspect of life? The answer is found in verse 15. It is not “Until the Spirit is poured upon us from on high.” When will this occur? It will happen at the Second Advent of Christ when He sets up His kingdom here on Earth. During Christ’s 1,000-year reign, it will be the greatest time of spiritual blessing. But prior to this will be the pouring out of God’s wrath during the Tribulation as prophesied in Joel 2:30-31. Joel tells us what God said, “And I will show wonders in the heavens and in the earth: Blood and fire and pillars of smoke. The sun shall be turned into darkness, And the moon into blood, Before the coming of the great and awesome day of the Lord.” During this time of judgment, the faithful remnant of Israel will call upon the name of the Lord and they shall be saved. “For in Mount Zion and in Jerusalem there shall be deliverance, As the Lord has said, Among the remnant whom the Lord calls” (see Joel 2:32). The enemies of the Lord shall be leveled by the hail of God’s judgment and they shall be destroyed. Then the Lord Jesus Christ will establish His Millennium Kingdom, and it will be a time of peace, quietness, safety and great spiritual blessings. My friends, these verses in Isaiah looks forward to Christ’s return and His reign here on earth. It will be a peaceful time when people can safely sow beside all waters and when the ox and the donkey can roam freely without being in danger. My friends, we have much wonderful and blessed times to look forward to.
God Bless and have a great day in God’s Word.
