Luke 24:44-49 (NKJV) 44 Then He said to them, “These are the words which I spoke to you while I was still with you, that all things must be fulfilled which were written in the Law of Moses and the Prophets and the Psalms concerning Me.” 45 And He opened their understanding, that they might comprehend the Scriptures. 46 Then He said to them, “Thus it is written, and thus it was necessary for the Christ to suffer and to rise from the dead the third day, 47 and that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in His name to all nations, beginning at Jerusalem. 48 And you are witnesses of these things. 49 Behold, I send the Promise of My Father upon you; but tarry in the city of Jerusalem until you are endued with power from on high.”

Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ opens up, or explains, the Scriptures concerning Him to His disciples because they had simply not believed His Word. My friends, this is still the same today, not that we simply don’t believe, but we need the Holy Spirit to open up the Scriptures to us. We need the Spirit of God to open our minds and hearts so that the Word of God can be real to us. “And He opened their understanding, that they might comprehend the Scriptures.” And at the heart of the Scriptures is the gospel of Christ, the good news, the message of salvation. And this gospel is to be shared with all peoples on earth. We as believers ought to be doing our part to get the Word out, just as Jesus commissioned His disciples to go, Jesus also equips us through the power of the Holy Spirit to share the message of salvation. And the message, the good news, is that Jesus died and rose again from the dead, and that, by believing in and trusting in Him, sinners can be saved. And Jesus gives us the Holy Spirit who dwells within in us to bring this message to the world.

God Bless and have a great day in God’s Word.
