John 4:13-14 (NKJV) 13 Jesus answered and said to her, “Whoever drinks of this water will thirst again, 14 but whoever drinks of the water that I shall give him will never thirst. But the water that I shall give him will become in him a fountain of water springing up into everlasting life.”

Jesus is not talking about the water in the well. Instead, Jesus is making a comparison. The water from the well, satisfies a thirst for only a little while. This is true for many physical satisfactions. But the blessings and mercies which He gives will completely satisfy us spiritually. They are like a fountain of water that is continuously overflowing, not only in this life here on earth but also in eternity. Christ’s blessings, mercies, grace and love will go on forever. The contrast is very clear, the things of this world are temporary and cannot truly satisfy the human heart. But the blessings which Christ provides fills the heart and is too great for anyone’s heart to contain. Only God who made the hearts of men can fill the God shape void in their hearts. For the pleasures of this world only lasts for a moment in time, but the pleasures which Christ provides lasts for all eternity.

God Bless and have a great day in God’s Word.
