Genesis 1:29-31 (NKJV) 29 And God said, “See, I have given you every herb that yields seed which is on the face of all the earth, and every tree whose fruit yields seed; to you it shall be for food. 30 Also, to every beast of the earth, to every bird of the air, and to everything that creeps on the earth, in which there is life, I have given every green herb for food”; and it was so. 31 Then God saw everything that He had made, and indeed it was very good. So the evening and the morning were the sixth day.

From these verses, it can be seen that animals were originally herbivorous, and man was vegetarian. After the Flood the eating habits of animals and man changed (see Genesis 9:1-7). Here in Genesis chapter 1 and in verses 24 through 31 we have the account of the sixth day of Creation. All throughout Genesis chapter 1 God is mentioned as the Creator. The Bible, the Word of God, makes no attempt to prove the existence of God. Why? Because God says, “The fool has said in his heart, “There is no God.” They are corrupt, They have done abominable works, There is none who does good” (Psalm 14:1 NKJV). Also in Genesis chapter 1, we are told that the days of Creation are literal solar days. In the Old Testament, when “day” is used with a number it refers to a literal solar day as given in the expression “the evening and the morning were the first day” to denote a literal solar day in Creation. This is consistent with God’s command to Israel to rest on the Sabbath day. God based this command on the fact that He had rested on the seventh day, after six days of work (see Exodus 20:8-11). The Bible does not tell us how old the heavens and the earth are. But we know that God created man on the sixth day, and Adam lived 930 years. And we are given the genealogies of man. And even allowing for possible gaps in these genealogies, man could not have been on this earth for the millions of years necessary to support the various theories of evolutionists. The Bible is God’s Word to man. It reveals the spiritual, the religious, the redemptive truth. But accepting the Word of God only comes by faith. In Genesis chapter 1, we are given the fact that God is the Creator. And in John 1:1, John 1:14, Colossians 1:16, and Hebrews 1:2 we see that the Lord Jesus Christ was the active Agent in Creation. In Genesis chapter 1, we see the unity, the power, and the personality of the Triune Godhead, Elohim. It is exactly what Paul tells us in Romans 1:20 (NKJV). Paul says, “For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen.” Why are they clearly seen? It is “being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse.” God makes it very clear that the heavens and the earth had a beginning. It was all created. And God, Elohim, is the Creator. And for the irrefutable wonders of His Creation, God is worthy of endless praise, worship and thanksgiving.

God Bless and have a great day in God’s Word.
