Isaiah 55:6-7 (NKJV) 6 Seek the Lord while He may be found, Call upon Him while He is near. 7 Let the wicked forsake his way, And the unrighteous man his thoughts; Let him return to the Lord, And He will have mercy on him; And to our God, For He will abundantly pardon.
You have heard the saying, “God’s way is higher than our way.” It comes from the next two verses, ““For My thoughts are not your thoughts, Nor are your ways My ways,” says the Lord. “For as the heavens are higher than the earth, So are My ways higher than your ways, And My thoughts than your thoughts”” (Isaiah 55:8-9 NKJV). The way of God and the way of man are put in contrast. And we see that our way falls short of God’s way. Therefore, God calls us to seek after Him. Since our way will never follow the way of God for redemption. We are to seek after God, this is our responsibility. And it is not in conflict with the sovereign purposes and election of God. This is why we are told, “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life” (John 3:16 NKJV). And this is why Jesus could say, “All that the Father gives Me will come to Me, and the one who comes to Me I will by no means cast out” (John 6:37 NKJV). That is why, you cannot say that you are not part of the elect, and use it as your excuse to go on living in sin. Because the moment you turn to Christ for salvation, you become part of the elect. Accepting the Lord Jesus Christ as your Savior is up to you. “Let the wicked forsake his way,” and when you do, my friend, then you will be ready to come to Christ.
God Bless and have a great day in God’s Word.
