Ephesians 6:23-24 (NKJV) 23 Peace to the brethren, and love with faith, from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. 24 Grace be with all those who love our Lord Jesus Christ in sincerity. Amen.

Paul’s final farewell, his swan song if you will, is found in 2 Timothy 4:6-8 (NKJV), Paul says, “For I am already being poured out as a drink offering, and the time of my departure is at hand. I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Finally, there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give to me on that Day, and not to me only but also to all who have loved His appearing.” Paul was a good soldier of Christ. Paul suited up with the whole Armor of God, and he went into each battle with the confidence of Christ by his side. And now, Paul’s time has come, and he reflects on his service, and he looks ahead to the rewards that await him in heaven. Now here in Ephesians 6:23-24, Paul closes his epistle with a twofold benediction of peace and grace. Paul wishes “Peace” to the brethren, but not just any peace. It is the peace of God which surpasses all understanding.  Paul also expresses his love to his fellow believers, but not just any expression of love. It is the love which is the fruit of the Holy Spirit that is produced in us by faith. Paul also prays that God’s grace will be with his brethren who loves the Lord Jesus Christ in sincerity. This is a wonderful way to wish one well, for it is by God’s grace that we are saved, and it is by His grace that He sustains us today. My friends, all of these blessings: peace, love, faith and grace come from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ, a fact that would be impossible if the Father and the Son were not one. My friends, we serve a Triune God, Elohim: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. And “Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning” (James 1:17 NKJV). God is good, and every blessing comes from God.

God Bless and have a great day in God’s Word.
