Job 34:1-2 (NKJV) Elihu further answered and said: 2 “Hear my words, you wise men; Give ear to me, you who have knowledge.
Elihu now has some spiritual insight to pass along to his friends: Job, Eliphaz, Bildad, and Zophar. Up to now these friends thought Job had some unconfessed sin, but if Job was not hiding any sin, then he was being treated unfairly. But God is never unfair in His dealings with us. As these friends shall see. For God puts our faith through the fire to burn off any and all impurities. In Job’s case, God wanted to remove pride from Job’s life. Job was so prideful that he could not recognize it as the reason why he was so adamant in his defense. God was putting Job through the fire to refine his character and faith. Job lost sight of God’s mercies which separated him from God. As in Job’s case, our circumstances of life weigh us down, because we think to ourselves, “What have I done to deserve this?” Instead of asking God for help and for His mercies, we say, “This is unfair.” My friends, we ought to live above our circumstances and recognize that God uses them to make us a little more like Jesus and to grow our faith. When we let life circumstances weigh us down, we lose sight of God. We get to the point where worry and distress occupies our hearts instead of peace and assurance, and we do not feel God’s presence. We begin to look for excuses and someone to blame. Instead of turning to God for His mercies. In all of life trials and tribulations, God wants to bring us back to Him with a broken and humble heart. This is the end result that God is striving for in our lives. We all need a humble heart so that God can use.
God Bless and have a great day in God’s Word.
