John 12:42-50 (NKJV) 42 Nevertheless even among the rulers many believed in Him, but because of the Pharisees they did not confess Him, lest they should be put out of the synagogue; 43 for they loved the praise of men more than the praise of God. 44 Then Jesus cried out and said, “He who believes in Me, believes not in Me but in Him who sent Me. 45 And he who sees Me sees Him who sent Me. 46 I have come as a light into the world, that whoever believes in Me should not abide in darkness. 47 And if anyone hears My words and does not believe, I do not judge him; for I did not come to judge the world but to save the world. 48 He who rejects Me, and does not receive My words, has that which judges him—the word that I have spoken will judge him in the last day. 49 For I have not spoken on My own authority; but the Father who sent Me gave Me a command, what I should say and what I should speak. 50 And I know that His command is everlasting life. Therefore, whatever I speak, just as the Father has told Me, so I speak.”

To be a secret believer is an unfortunate position to be in. To have to hide your faith because you don’t want to break or end the associations you have with other people who do not believe is so very sad. You hide your faith because you don’t want to upset them, or you don’t want to be rebuked by them, or you don’t want to lose your fellowship with them. Well, my friends, who do you fear the most, man or God? Jesus said, “And do not fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. But rather fear Him who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell” (Matthew 10:28 NKJV). My friends, without the fellowship of your unbelieving friends, you may feel sad at first, but you will get over it. However, without the Lord Jesus Christ, your sins condemn you to hell, forever separated from God. To hide your faith is to fear man. And there were many secret believers in Jesus’ day. However, two of these secret believers, Joseph of Arimathea and Nicodemus are seen taking down the body of Jesus from the cross and burying Him in Joseph’s tomb in John 19:38-42. They were true believers. Here in John 12:44-46, Jesus again makes the amazing statement that He is the Light of the World. Jesus gives Light that people can see and live. Just as He opened the eyes of the blind man, Jesus can open the eyes of everyone who are willing to admit that they are blind and accepts Jesus as their Lord and Savior. Turn away from your sins, my friends, and turn to Christ for salvation. “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved” (John 3:16-17 NKJV). My friends, Jesus came the first time to be our substitutional sacrifice on the Cross to pay the penalty for our sins. And if we would believe in Jesus, then by God’s grace He will save us. Jesus came the first time not to judge the world but to save the world. However, those who do not accept Jesus as their Lord and Savior are already condemn by their sins. For the Word of God judges them. And the next time Jesus will come as the Judge to execute God’s judgment on the unrighteous. My friends, God is still saying to us through His Word, “This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased. Hear Him!” (Matthew 17:5 NKJV). Hear His voice, my friends, and come to the Lord Jesus Christ for salvation.

God Bless and have a great day in God’s Word.
