Psalm 42:6-10 (NKJV) 6 O my God, my soul is cast down within me; Therefore I will remember You from the land of the Jordan, And from the heights of Hermon, From the Hill Mizar. 7 Deep calls unto deep at the noise of Your waterfalls; All Your waves and billows have gone over me. 8 The Lord will command His lovingkindness in the daytime, And in the night His song shall be with me—A prayer to the God of my life. 9 I will say to God my Rock, “Why have You forgotten me? Why do I go mourning because of the oppression of the enemy?” 10 As with a breaking of my bones, My enemies reproach me, While they say to me all day long, “Where is your God?”
This the same heart cry of Jonah, “For You cast me into the deep, Into the heart of the seas, And the floods surrounded me; All Your billows and Your waves passed over me” (Jonah 2:3 NKJV). Like Jonah, the faithful remnant of Israel will think that destruction is upon them, but God will deliver them out of the Great Tribulation. The jaws of death is ready to devour them, but their faith will give them the confident assurance that God will remember them. It is as the song goes, “The devil gonna try and take me out of that church But you can’t take the church out of me.” Therefore, in exile, far from the house of God, they still worship and praise Him. And even in the midst of the Great Tribulation, God will be merciful on them. The faithful remnant of Israel will believe that “The Lord will command His lovingkindness in the daytime, And in the night His song shall be with me—A prayer to the God of my life.” But because of the relentless attacks of their enemies, the faithful remnant will be discouraged and they will think that God has left them. My friends, do you feel this way from time to time? I am certain that many of us do. But remember what God says, “Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth!” (Psalm 46:10 NKJV). And God will never leave you or forsake you.
God Bless and have a great day in God’s Word.
