Isaiah 66:12-13 (NKJV) 12 For thus says the Lord: “Behold, I will extend peace to her like a river, And the glory of the Gentiles like a flowing stream. Then you shall feed; On her sides shall you be carried, And be dandled on her knees. 13 As one whom his mother comforts, So I will comfort you; And you shall be comforted in Jerusalem.”
The Lord our God has extended His peace to the nation of Israel like a river that runs in a constant stream, never ending peace. For us, my friends, we have peace with God through the Lord Jesus Christ. If we would accept Jesus as our Lord and Savior, because Christ makes peace between sinful man and a righteous God by means of His shed blood on the cross. And the Word of God supplies us a constant flow of spiritual nourishment by which the Holy Spirit of God makes us fruitful that we may enjoy the peace given to us by Jesus Christ the Son of God. Such peace cannot be obtained by any other means. “Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved” (Acts 4:12 NKJV). Only Christ can provide us peace with God, and through Christ we have endless blessings. My friends, what do you do with God’s blessings? Surely God’s blessings are to be enjoyed in thankfulness and praise. And it should also be devoted to God and employed for the spreading of the gospel of Christ. Oh, the church today could reach more people if believers would be more earnest and diligent in their service to God. If their zeal for God surpassed their zeal for worldly things. And if there were no infighting among believers. Believers should love one another and treat each other affectionately in the love of God, so that newly born-again believers would not be discouraged. We need to comfort each other in the most tender and compassionate way. For this is how the Lord Jesus Christ comforts us with tender affections and compassions as a mother comforts her child. During the Great Tribulation, God will comfort the faithful remnant of Israel in Jerusalem, and He will deliver them. And the church will also partake of God’s comfort, along with the Jews, in the Millennial Kingdom of Christ.
God Bless and have a great day in God’s Word.
