Psalm 78:50-53 (NKJV) 50 He made a path for His anger; He did not spare their soul from death, But gave their life over to the plague, 51 And destroyed all the firstborn in Egypt, The first of their strength in the tents of Ham. 52 But He made His own people go forth like sheep, And guided them in the wilderness like a flock; 53 And He led them on safely, so that they did not fear; But the sea overwhelmed their enemies.

God made a path for His anger so that it could go forth aggressively without restraint. The firstborn in every home in Egypt was struck down by a plague. But the firstborn in the Israelites’ homes were protected by the blood of the Passover lamb. The plague only sought out the firstborn and only in homes that were not covered by the blood of the Passover lamb. No natural explanation can account for this specific targeting. It can only be attributed to the providence of God. It was God who worked on behalf of His people. And so, the Pharaoh of Egypt yielded to God and let His people leave Egypt. God led His people like a flock of sheep out of Egypt, and He guided them safely through the wilderness. But then Pharaoh had a change of heart, and he sent his army to destroy the Jews. However, God protected His people and led them safely on dry ground across the Red Sea. But the sea engulfed their enemies. These events, my friends, are a marvelous display of God’s love for His people and of His power. “What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?” (Romans 8:31 NKJV). Meaning my friends, what shall we fear? Since our salvation is secured by the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, no matter what happens to us, we are saved. Nothing can separate us from the love of God. Yes, we have to make out a living in this world, but that does not mean that we live for this world. My friends, we are God’s children through faith in Jesus Christ His Son. And therefore, we ought to live as God’s children. We ought to live for Christ without fear for God shall protect His people and lead us safely home in heaven.

God Bless and have a great day in God’s Word.
